A total of 46 RF-4Bs were delivered to the Marine Corps. Of that number four were lost in Vietnam, and 15 more destroyed over the years in mishaps. The aircraft was especially prone to stall/spin accidents, with at least eight of the 15 losses attributable to that single cause.
