This was one of two RF's that made the final flight to MCAS Cherry Point in 1990, marking the end of the last operational RF-4B Phantom. ![]() MCAS Cherry Point, NC MCAS Cherry Point Website This was a suprise when I attended the 2009 Cherry Point Air Show and saw the RF-4B Phantom as part of the displays. AC# 157346 has been on display in front of the Officers Club but the building was being rebuilt so they moved the RF and totaly repainted it. It will be back in front of the O-Club again.

USS Midway Website This is almost hard to believe but this is the only thing on the USS Midway Museum, a single RF-4B Phantom Wing Tank, that represents our squadrons, VMCJ-1 and VMFP-3 service to this carrier. Flying Leatherneck Museum Website Trivial Facts July 2 2000, 1300 hours, VMAQ-2 had their 25 Anniverary. It was an open house with Gen. Royal Moore as the guest speaker. At that affair the CO of the squadron presented an RF4B to the MCAS Cherry Point. Buno #157346 has more than 5,000 flight hours and made over 60 cat launches. It was the second to the last RF-4B to be retired from VMFP-3 in 1990.
